Our history
While studying at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Gianluca Corti witnessed the challenges his friend faced in the job market, including repeated rejections and being ghosted by employers. Motivated by the impact these experiences had on his friend's self-confidence and mental health, Gianluca was determined to make a positive change. As vice president of a student association, he organized a major recruitment event, creating a thriving ecosystem of students, alumni, student associations, universities, and employers.
After successfully managing the event and facing his own rejections when applying for leadership roles, Gianluca, along with his friend Andre Marcatto, decided to launch their own organization focused on career events. They later recruited Rebecca Jacob, and GConnection was born as a student association. The success of GNext, a collaborative event with student associations from leading European schools, underscored the potential of their vision. Realizing that establishing a company was more feasible than an association, they transitioned GConnection into a startup and recruited Andres Salvi as their former Head of Tech.
Founded in 2021, GConnection aims to empower early talent to not settle and connect with a future they love.
